Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Oh no. This is not good. But i have noticed that once the passport fee is deducted i havent seen any rejections. So looks like passport fee deduction is positive sign. But we don't see many rejections in the first place. Most people either get accepted, or never post again (so we don't know how ...

Re: BC ceremony - what if unable to attend for a few months?

Request a ceremony outside the UK If you’re not living in the UK, you can ask to have your ceremony at the embassy or consulate in the country you’re living in. Bad idea if you are not the spouse nor civil partner of a British citizen, as your future intentions would be in doubt. Just quoting from t ...

Request a ceremony outside the UK If you’re not living in the UK, you can ask to have your ceremony at the embassy or consulate in the country you’re living in. If you’re only abroad for a few months, you might be asked to postpone the ceremony until you return to the UK. If you’re planning to be awa ...

Sorry how do you mean by mistake?
People have received approval letter but not ceremony invite letter, when they contacted Home office the letter was issued by mistake and the application was still ongoing, very rare though, as I said contact them for an update to where letter is.

Re: Citizenship approval letter received, what is ceremony letter?

Our council sent an email to confirm, with details etc. They call you in to check your details before you go into ceremony. Usually refreshments before and after, and a passport holder for your new British passport, if the council is generous

Re: Delay more than 6 months

Unlike visa applications under the Immigration Rules, the granting of British citizenship is a privilege and not a right. It is granted at the sole discretion of the Home Secretary with no right of appeal (only re-consideration). Challenging the delay would be pointless. Can the head of state grant ...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Hi, went to the NCS today and I didn't take my previous passport so I'll have to go again tomorrow. My current passport starts on the 17th of September 2015 and my last one ends on the 19th of January 2015, so there's an 8 month gap there. Now in 2015, I took my AS-Levels, so I'm going to take my ...

Surely DX should return to the property where it was delivered? It's useless to the recipient, and I thought they would of returned or informed the relevant authority.
