
How many months / years of delay in attending the ceremony is acceptable, if we give notice? This can happen, if due to some pressing reasons, I am stuck abroad after giving biometrics etc.? Also can we attend the ceremony in absentia?

It is only applicable to do this if a person is married to a British citizen and they are both moving abroad for work for example, as vinny's links explain.
