I was hoping you would be able to offer me some guidance as I am now beyond confused!
I have submitted my Right of Abode application (within the UK). This is my 3rd application- which has always been processed very quickly and efficiently. I now understand that the processing times are alot slower. My problem is, I have applied and been offered a new job- 3 days after my passport expired and a month into my ROA application. My potential employer has photocopied my passport with the Right of Abode, but I believe that this can not be considered "proof" due to the passport expiring.
Is there any way around this? It seems slightly unfair that I could potentially lose the employment offer due to the processing times, particularly as it is clearly states that the ROA is a life long entitlement. Can my new employer contact the home office for confirmation of right to work?
Any help or advice- much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
