Baby is British as I understand it and no it doesn't affect your status at all so no easy way in.

Sorry, that's wrong..the baby IS NOT BRITISH unless ONE of the parents is a permanent resident or British Citizen...only then can the child be registered as British.
This means that your child is the mother's and/or father's nationality, and not British. There was a change of law in the early 1980s that made it so that you do not become a citizen based on birth in the UK only. So, kabale, you will need to get a passport from your country (or father's) for your baby, or put the baby on your passport, because the baby isn't eligible for registration as a British Citizen (unless you or the father obtains ILR/BC).
Having a child doesn't change your status, so you will still be international students. Babies have no affect on your stay here. Sorry!
