Hello,
My husband and i have been married for almost 2 years now. We just recently had a son back in March. My husband just got his green card here in the US. Hopefully once he gets dual citizenship being Irish and American we hope to move back to Ireland. We are soon getting our son citizenship there.
What are the procedures for me going to Ireland. I have read that being a US citizen i have a right to be in Ireland and i just can go in on a passport and tell an immigration officer that I'm planning on living in Ireland. Then they would stamp my passport and register at a office nearby where i am living. That seems to easy though, isn't there a catch? Wouldn't i need a spouse visa before going into Ireland. Would it be the same rules if we lived in Northern Ireland? How could i show proof that my husband has been working if we are going to live in Ireland at the same time?
If my husband has to sponsor me would he have to make a lot of money?
If someone could please answer some of these questions it would be great, so much information I'm getting is confusing.
Many thanks-
alicia
