Home Office Requests Documents (IELTS UPDATE?)

Post by Wonderful12 » Tue Dec 22, 2020 4:47 pm

Hi all, I have just received this from HO

"We request that you please provide an updated IELTs English language test report, as we were uanble to verify the report submitted. You have 5 days to send these document"

The one I initially sent was an Academic IELTs which was written in November 2018. Application was submitted in October 2020.

Do I send it back again or apply for a fast track NARIC (evidence the level of your degree and/or your English language proficiency for the UK Home Office) or send them a letter from the university saying the course was taught in English. I also have an existing offer from university of West London

Is the 5 days working days or not?

Thanks so much

Kindly advise and thanks

What did you apply for? Have you previously used the IELTS for a previous application such as spouse visa before and it has now expired? Does the IELTS academic has a number on it UKVI?

This is for a spouse visa.

No its always been used for academic purposes.
It was written at the British Council and No there is no mention of UKVI on the test report. It has a test number, test centre number, candidate number

Running out of options as NARIC is out for a Christmas break

I’m unsure why you have used a certificate which has not been used for a partner applications previously. It’s very risky thing to do.

You will have to explain to the caseworker that NARIC are currently on Xmas break and won’t able to assess your results.

The caseworker will only use their discretion here because appendix FM-SE state that you must provide documents within specified period requested by the caseworker.

Thank you for your response.

Alternatively, Can I ask for an extension from the Home office to provide this evidence?

Unsure if 5 days constitute to 5 working days or 5 days from time of receipt

Cheers

Thank you soo much.

I guess I'll have to try much luck with extension.

Or hope they use their discretion

IELTS Update: Home Office Reconsideration

Post by Wonderful12 » Wed Jan 06, 2021 2:01 pm

Hi all - In my previous post I was refused the visa however, they reviewed and came back with the below information.

" It was brought to our attention that the IELTs certificate that you submitted with your application did not meet the requirements of Appendix FM of the UK Immigration Rules. We would like you to take the appropriate test that would satisfy the Appendix FM of the UK Immigration rule. I refer you to the following link that will help you find the right test: https://www.ielts.org/what-is-ielts/iel ... ed-kingdom

Once you have retaken the test and submitted the certificate that will also show the UKVI unique reference number then we will reconsider the decision made on your application."

Basically the test was valid at the time of application but expired come 40days into the application. I met all the other requirements though.

My question is I applied for NARIC certificate. Should I send the certificate or take the test as they requested??

Do I also reply to their email to confirm receipt or reply when I have the ielts evidence which will be end of the month?

Thank you all

If you have the NARIC and sure all meeting requirements, send it as is.
If not, you may want to go in the direction HO is nudging you I.e. to do English test....availability of this with ongoing lockdown I know not.
You can reply to their mail stating the option you met and that is in line with meeting English language requirement. Best of luck k.
