I have resisted asking these questions for 4 weeks now because I'm sure it has been asked before. However, I have read many, many posts over the last 8 weeks and haven’t found the answer to my question(s).
Background: My husband and I applied for a settlement visa at the World Bridge office in Istanbul, Turkey on December 30th 2008. I then returned to the UK to continue working (I am a primary school teacher - I went to visit him/apply for the visa with him during the school holiday).
We were given a letter at the WB office stating he would be called within around 15 working days (3 weeks). 43 working days on we have heard nothing. I have emailed WB twice - to which they responded a quote: 'target is for 90% applications to be decided in 12 weeks (60 working days)' We have heard many stories and I have read loads of posts on here that say their visas have been granted in days, sometimes a few weeks or possibly a month.
My Questions are:
Might there be a problem with our application?
Is there anything we can do?
Is no news good news?
Is it common for applications to take this amount of time?
I appreciate these questions are difficult to answer but any knowledge or wisdom people can offer to our case please do.....I feel so lonely and feel like I'm going crazy with all this waiting
