few questions, when to get passport

Hi all

my wife came to UKlas year on ILR under spouse visa. But she came to UK late so her ILR is about to expire but as there is a 8 month gap she cant apply for next stage which i guess is FLR?

i have few questions

1) Her ILR is due to expire mid June. we will be applying for it during June. How long would it be before she gets her passport back as in mid august we are planning a holiday so wondering if she will have her passport or not before we book holiday. If we did the on the day visa thing would that speed things up - i know its extra charges but to make holiday happen in mid august i am willing to pay extra

2) Her 2 years in UK will be in mid Jan 2015. I take it she will need to apply for FLR then? am i correct? whats the next steps? when can she get the british passport and get me out of this confusion? was curious after FLR when can she apply for the british passport ?

3) She has a kenyan passport with her old surname. Her spouse visa also states her old surname. Whats process to get new surname? when she applies for extension in June, can she use her new surname even though passport still states old surname or shall i get passport changed to new surname and same for visa? or shall i just wait for the red passport and then change surname?

sorry for too many questions and long, i am just totally confused with this lol!
