PEO appointment advise

Post by Tier1settlement » Wed Mar 05, 2014 7:13 pm

Dear Sir/Madam,

I was about to book a PEO (Public Enquiry Office) appointment for my Indefinite leave to remain along with my husband.

as per new instructions published on www.gov.uk/ukvi website that some one who's visa was rejected earlier can not apply at PEO, i just want to know that my husbands visa was refused for insuffient documents back in 2003 in India but granted visa in subsequent application.

Tried ringing home office but option 3 disconnects with a message as they are busy call later, strange they did not published any email address for general queries.

Can you some one advise if we can apply at PEO or not?

Thanks and Regards,

Hi,
Today morning I got the connection after 10 minutes. They told me that if you apply after 5 years of residence in this country then you can attend the PEO.

The new website now clearly mentions that any previous visa rejections are not eligible for PEO appointments. It doesn't say anything about the decision overturned for the same application. It's a grey area for the moment unless UKBA comes up with specific examples.

Hi All,

Good news for this issue.

UKVI has just updated the site and removed the visa refusal clause.

So green signal for people waiting to book their PEO appointments.

Thanks

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I was bit worried as i did not know about this before. I am preparing to apply for ILR under T1 (G) next month.
My employer initially applied for my work permit back in Nov 2008 which was rejected but then decision was overturned in Jan 2009.

I then applied for T1 (G) in May 2009 at PEO and was successfully grnated, T1 (G) extension was applied at PEO and was successful. Now i am applying for ILR on the basis of T1 (G) next month, not including period spent on WP.

Since the clause is removed, I believe i can apply for ILR at PEO with confidence.
