2 friend of mine who applied in jan with 12 month slips undr cat a also heard quickly! I get the impression that if u apply with 12 months instead of 6 u r more likely to hear becoz u have provided double the evidence making their job easier! Just an observation! :)

Maybe your right. I think applicants who applied in 2014 are just lucky to hear back early. Should have applied in 2014 lol, if only we knew :)

So true! But this shows us that as long as paperwork is satisfactory 4 them then visa can be granted asap! Unfortunately they've not been satisfied with ours twice in a row! Idiots lol

Allah knows best, when the times right our partners will join us in shaa Allah!

Have u had no news yet ? Did u contact mp?

Hi all, i just have a few questions, i was wondering whether you all could help me please.

1) If my.husband withdraws.his application how would he go about doing this, and how long would it take until he got his passport back!?

2) The forms have now changed so.would that mean i would have to pay and.fill them in from the UK, as last time my husband paid and filled the forms in Pakistan.

3) My husband remembered there was a question which stated, whether this was the first application, or second, or whether you were refused before. We basically have been left hanging for a year now, so have decided to reapply, but what would i put down to that question.

Any advice would be appreciated JazakAllah khair.. :))

Alhumdililah so happy 4 u ! We all may not know one another on a personal level but we know exactly what one another is going through so wish u all the best. Please pray 4 the rest of us too!

Sameena : on the hold letter it will state who to contact, i would phne the bhc number and ask them what the procedure is. Dnt trust gerrys! as no1 has withdrawn frm this forum i dont think anyone will know how long it takes to get passport back. But my best bet is within 3 weeks .

Yes u will need to fill in new forms now under the new rules for the applications. There is one u need to fill online and then print and sign. And one u just fill out by hand. The fees will now have to be paid by the sponsor in advance also online now. Only then will an appt at gerrys be given.

Also u would need to say 2nd application, but in the box explain what happened u were pt on hold due to xyz and withdrew ur application because at the end of the day it is a fresh 2nd application regardless of what happened to the 1st one!

Hope that helps!

Hi I'm also thinking of withdrawing but I'm not sure, my husband is adamant on withdrawing.. I think if we have waited this long why not a little more. Have u any news on how long we r expected to wait. It looks me and my husband will be moving back to Dubai. Depending on how long they take to return the passport we have requested it on a number of occasions but heard nothing. So he will be most likely going on Thursday to go pick it up?? Would that be possible.

To Hello786

Nope, not heard yet. I know i should email them as it has been over a month since i sent them additional documents, but i am not going to yet. Probably will email them after 2 weeks if i dont hear back by then.

Do you think i should email them now? I think i might be in the same boat as you. Hope my husband get RFC message this week or next week. I wouldnt mind if ours get refused. I would prefer this than keeping it on hold. Atleast we would be able to appeal if they refuse it.

When did you find out that your documents werent accepted, after how many weeks after sending them did they let you know this? You might have told me in the past, but i forgotten with all this stress.

Hi
They didn't request any documents but I gave them in when I went pakistan, in jan I'm assuming they wont have been accepted bcuz they never requested them. Yeh I get what u mean id rather have a yes or no then ur app is on hold! I'm shocked that they could make us wait a year. Do u think if my hubby goes embassy they will return his passport? And also if applying for visitors visa do the people sponsoring u have to earn 18,600. I don't know how long they expect us to wait without keeping us updated!! Surely their must be something we can do. I won't be reapplying we jus thought it would be great to spend some time with my family but looks like it won't be happening thanks to this stupid law.

I have no idea about this whole law change situation is going to pan out, but i think they will put up a fight, as they did when they raised the financial requirement. I'm going withdraw as i am well above what they are asking, yet they claim i earn only 5K a year :@,.. So if it does come down i will still be rejected. However I'm going to double check with my MP.

I don't think we're going to be hearing anytime soon I earn over too yet the hold letter claims I only earned 17k I don't know how they worked out their calculations. Let us know what ur no says I will be going to see my mp on the 29th.. Depending on what he says will withdraw but most likely won't be reapplying.
