Spouse Dependant Residence Permit Documents

Hi,

I am a non-EU national based in London and am in the process of applying for residence permit for employment at German Consulate in London.

I would be applying for a residence permit for my spouse and child as they would be travelling with me.

As part of the process, is it necessary to provide original marriage certificate documents or is it fine if we provide them with photocopies? (original copies are back in the home country)

Also, is it necessary to get the documents legalised or has that process ben scrapped?
