Tier 2 SK witching new employer

Post by prakashs » Tue Apr 01, 2014 10:33 pm

Hi All,

Need a urgent help, I'm being in UK for past 3 years working for an employer and got the new employer who can sponsor me..

So my question is...

1. For applying the change of employment , do i need to maintain the funds of minimum of 900 pounds if my new employer is not willing to mention in the cos?
2. if i'm applying the change of employment outside UK will it make any difference compared with applying within UK?

Thanks
Prakash.

Prakash
Congrats on your new job.
If you are applying for change of employment within the uk, after online application the system will generate all documents you may need to submit. You may not need maintenance as you are already working here in the uk. You can for your peace of mind add £900 bank statement if you wish. Don't resign from your current employer until you receive your new BRP
If you are keen on applying for ILR, then if you change your employment within the uk, your pervious stay on tier 2 will count towards your 5 year stay for ILR
You can choose to apply from your home country; BUT you will break your continuous stay in the uk and ILR clock will have to be restarted!
Hope this helps

To add to the above, once you leave the uk on tier 2 general, you are subject to 12 months cooling off period before you can make a new tier 2 application.
