Past Earnings

Post by hameed84 » Sat Jul 21, 2007 8:19 pm

Hi,

I'm planning to do my HSMP evaluation, my current salary is equivilant to 800 GBP per month, i also recieve 2 bonuses every year bringing my total to 11200 GBP which falls just 300 pounds from the required band to be able to pass my application.
I however work a part time job that would take me over the requirement. however i am being paid cash or cheques.
will i be able to claim that i am recieving my salary on a cash or cheques basis?
Is is sufficient to provide just a letter of employment + salary slips?
Please also note that my country is tax free and we dont have income tax documents.

Thank you,

Hameed.

I'll apologize in advance if I'm misunderstanding your question, but are you asking for advice on forging documents to show earnings that you did not, in fact, earn?

However i was thinking of a way to complete the required criteria, as i have a loan with another bank in which i deposit cash every month and at the end of the month that amount is deducted, so i was wondering if i can claim that amount deposited as a salary from another company? I can easily provide salary slips, as my uncle owns a company & can provide me with the slips.
If the bank statements will arouse suspicion, will i be able to claim that i am recieving my salary on a cash or cheques basis?

I've adjusted the question, the thing is i work with my uncle who is a consultant and i get paid based on jobs, and not on a monthly basis, that was the thing i was worried about, anyways he pays me on his convenience by cash or cheques, but everything is documented as i sign a receipt of payment. that is what i mean that salary slips can be made available.

You would then need to provide evidence of those supplemental earnings from your uncle, with your earning them as a consultant (independent contractor) yourself. This means: bank statements showing payments from your uncle, invoices from your uncle indicating payments and services provided, contracts (pre-arranged or post hoc) and tax returns for that income (of course in your country this last item may not be possible).

The standard for independent contractors is high, for obvious reasons, but you'll need to submit at least three of the above. Even for me, who provided all of the four sets of evidence as an independent contractor, it was a hard sell. I was paid by paper cheques (with stubs that I submitted as invoices) with bank statements that did not explicitly indicate the course of the (earnings) deposits; the point is that the employer/payer needs to provide documentation of having paid you on the dates indicated on the cheques. You need to go with how you were actually paid.

So, no, a letter and 'salary slips' for non-standard employment will not suffice.
