Eligibility

Hi everyone

I gave got ILR today, whereas my wife who was in a separate visa, got her ILR last year in Feb 2013 and she is now eligible for application for British citizenship. Can I make an application for citizenship now along with her or do I need to wait for one year and make separate application. Isn't allowed to make a join application now since we both now have ILR and she is now qualifying for citizenship application. Please advise.

Many thanks in advance

No, you cannot make a joint application but you can apply for citizenship once your wife is approved and has attended the ceremony and received her certificate, as long as you have the required 3 years residence and meet the standard requirements. You only qualify to apply as spouse of BC once she is a BC, not because she now qualifies to apply.

There is no longer a reduced joint application fee for spouse applying together.
