confusion about family joint application

Post by Cidfen » Fri Apr 25, 2014 5:22 pm

I am filling in form-AN for our family Can some one answer my questions about the family joint application?

I can see no fee specified for a family joint application on the payment slip while at the beginning of form-AN it mentions joint application like this:

---------------
For a "joint" application attracting a single fee the applications for a married or civil partnership couple must be submitted together.
---------------

and at the end of the form-AN is says:

---------------
Supporting documents SECTION 9 Joint applications
Marriage or civil partnership certificate
---------------

My questions are:

-as far as I am concerned we pay 823x2 + 669 (couple+ 1 child). what about joint application?

-What does a joint application mean? does it mean only submitting the application together if we are family

-If our marriage certificate was not obtained within UK and it's not English documents what do we do. Should we submit separately to avoid that hassle?

-If we submit the application together without a marriage certificate would that not be a joint application?

Any help are Appreciated!

There used to be (before April 2014) a reduced fee for a joint application. It doesn't exist anymore.

Thanks for your update !

So the description at the beginning of the form-AN is misleading is it?

In that case marriage certificate is no longer relevant here am I right?
