Passport lost - got new passport

Passport lost - got new passport

Hi all
I lost my passport , then i applied for new one got new passport, later on i got my lost passport back which is still valid.
My question is that what i do with this one shall i return it to embassy ? Or keep with me ?
I think when embassy issue new one they canel the old one in their system as it is mentioned on new passport that previous one is lost.

But when i apply for visa do i have to send both to HO?
