process of informing UKBA about change of name

Post by singhpuneet » Fri May 16, 2014 6:09 pm

Hello

I am on ILR Visa and have a BRP. I have recently changed my name and have managed to obtain a new passport from HCI, London with my new name. I understand UKBA requires me to inform them about change of name under change of circumstances.

I have been to the section https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances ... have-a-brp and would like someone who has been through this process recently to confirm or correct:
> If I indeed need to fill the form NTL and apply for a new biometric card?
> Do i have to additionally fill the change of circumstances (CoC) form as well? https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... s-form-mcc
> My understanding of sending supporting documents is; I need to send following
> Change of name deed poll
> Old and new passports
> Completed Forms

Can someone who has been through this process recently, confirm / correct my understanding please? It will be useful if you could also add the timescales of whole process through diff. stages?

If there is any other place you could point me for more information on this topic, i'd appreciate it.

Cheers
