Extension clarification question

Post by the3rdman » Mon May 19, 2014 4:15 pm

Hello again all,

My current Tier 2 visa is only for a 5 month duration (Feb 14 to Aug 14). My employer at the time wanted to make sure I had suitable qualifications before taking the plunge to sponsor me long term.

My question is, we are definitely able to apply to extend my current visa, correct? All of the relevant info I come across notes 3 year initial max with the opportunity to extend, so I wasn't sure if you had to have the initial 3 year T2 to be eligible to extend.

May be a daft question, but just want to get all of my ducks in a row. I tend to read between the lines to deeply sometimes. Thanks for the help!

you will be able to extend your visa, but you will have to apply before it expires.
You will be able to extend it for the last date of work on cos plus 2 weeks.
if you continue to work with same employer and same soc code, no rlmt is required. .
You can extend the visa up to 5 years.
