Born in 60's to British mother in Germany, live in UK

Post by ISayWhat » Sun Jun 15, 2014 2:39 pm

I wonder if anyone can help me please? I was born in the late 1960's to a British mother and German father who moved to the UK within 12 months of my birth. I've therefore lived in the UK for almost all my life but hold a German passport. I would love to have British citizenship, but can't work out what the best and most cost effective way of doing this is. Is doesn't seem right that I have to apply as if I were someone from abroad. I have attempted to understand the law regarding children born to British mothers pre 1983 but as far as I understand it that law applies to people not living in the UK. Any idea of how I go about this?
