Re: Spousal Visa Application - Pakistan (Timeline Only)

Post by the_silk_route » Sat Jun 14, 2014 3:55 am

Hi there,

What is the "Applicant Intent Letter" that my wife has to fill out? Where do I get this form from?

Also, as far as forms go, its the VAF4A form which I need to do online, and print a paper copy. Appendix 2. Receipt payment and what else?

Can we book an appointment whilst in Pakistan?

Are there any other forms which need filling, apart form the VAF4A and Appendix 2?

Thanks

Does anyone know the collection days/times for the Islamabad VAC? There's no appointment needed for collections, right? What does my wife need to take with her? Just the receipt and her CNIC?

Getting the application back so quickly, is that a good sign?
congrats man that was really quick. I have a quick question i am eligible for DLA but i only applied for freedom pass for disability. but never applied for DLA i was scared it will effect the application. because i am working full time as self employed. Do you think theres any point applying for it now? as it has been two months of my additional documents i sent i dont know if they have accepted it or not? :s THANKS

Even if you apply for it now I dont think it will impact your application either way. If you earn enough and meet the financial requirement then regardless of whether you are a DLA claimant or not it wouldn't impact your application. I could have not mentioned DLA and still would have been alright but I think it may strengthen your case to be exempt from financial requirement and show that you are also financially sound and working, somehow I think it boosts your case. At least I hope anyway.

Will let you all know my outcome on Monday morning when I find out.

The applicant intent letter in other words is a letter of intentions that you can type out and have applicant sign and date. It just outlines your spouse's stance on the application, i.e his or her wordings on how and when/where you met and in what circumstances your relationship formed. Your goals and ambitions together, your aspirations and future plans and generally her verbal support of the overall application. Its not a form you download, its something you can write and supply with the application.

Some people also get letters of support from applicant's parents etc as well - I didn't do this but you could if you wanted.

The forms are the VAF4A, Appendix 2, proof of Visa4UK payment and proof of appointment confirmation, and Sponsorship Undertaking which can be gotten from:

https://www.google.co.uk/url?url=https: ... OcjMm1lDGA

You can book the appointment in any country where you have an Internet connection and a visa card.

Any other queries please let me know.

Having DLA or not having DLA doesnt really affect your chances, its more to do with the financial requirement. It can help you if you dont meet the income threshold as then all you need to meet is adequate maintenance. Thats the only difference.

I know someone who applied with DLA and didnt get it because of lack of communication. I have heard fo other first time appliers getting it.

Even if you dont have DLA but you have sufficient income then your case should be as equally strong.

The figure of 120 a week (est) is whats needed to fulfil adequate maintenance requirement, which replaces financial requirement for DLA Claimants.

If you dont claim DLA or another qualifying benefit that exempts you from the Financial Requirement then you'll need to meet the full requirement, £18,400 a year I believe or something around that figure.

I put intended travel date of 25th July 2014 on my application and if my wife's visa is granted on Monday when she collects her documents what would the likely start date of the visa be?

Would she be able to travel straight away or not until 25th July?

Also does anyone know how long she has to travel to the UK, i.e I keep hearing 3 months? And if so would that 3 months start from the visa stamp date or intended travel date of 25th July?

Is there any way of sending further documents to the British High Commission ?
Documents that were not available at the time of application.
They are relevant to the period of application and not afterwards.
Would Gerry's be able to send them for us ?
Has anybody sent more documents ?
Applied 17th Jan 2014
VAC Mirpur
Category A (Husband)
Called for Interview 3rd July 2014
ALHAMDHULILLAH VISA GRANTED SAME DAY

I think you cannot submit additional docs unless they are requested, so ive read here and there. Everything is relevant to them up to application date you see. Not afterwards.

Additional documents cannot be provided unelss requested, regardless of whether they are relevant pre-application or post-application. To the best of my knowledge, at least!

Salaams all.

Really good forum going on - very helpful!
I've got a question:
Looking to submit application for husbands visa from Pakistan within the next few weeks. I am well over the required salary amount Allahumdulliah. I can prove the financial requirement and living requirement with no issue.
The only thing I'm worried about is, I have been using my overdraft very frequently in the past 6 months and once everything's paid out my account shows me having a few hundred available (my agreed overdraft with my bank is £1000).
I've asked a couple of visa specialists and they say this shouldn't affect the application as the overdraft is a service you are using from your bank and if you meet financial requirement - they will not look at savings.

Anyone else been in this situation? Has anyone been refused because of this?

Thanks all.

I pray Allah swt makes the process easier for all.
Online Form: 14 Nov 14
Documents & bio: 21 Nov 14
Requested to send additional docs: 2 Feb 15
Concluded email received: 4 Feb 15
Visa collected: 6 Feb 15 :-D
Cat A - Mirpur

May Allah (swt) grant everyone success with their Visas In Sha Allah.

Asiabi, they are just conducting more enquiries for the application. This could mean they are checking HMRC records, housing records, employment, bank etc.Nothing to be worried about.

I got this email that my app is delayed for further enquiries then the next day i got an email saying app ready for collection.

Sometimes the UKVI system takes some days to get updates so you may be further ahead then you're told. if that makes sense.
