Applying for British Citizenship

Post by mah » Thu May 29, 2014 3:28 pm

Dear All,

I have some basic questions.
I was HSMP, Tier 1 and got my ILR on 19 Jul 2013. When is the earliest time I can apply for BC? Can I apply 18 Jul 2014?
If I want to apply through NCS, can I just pop in or I need to book an appointment? How long before the day, do I need to call for appointment?

You can apply on or after 20th July 2014.

For NCS most council have required to book appointment and pay fee in advance. Call your local council to check the process and fee as every council has different fee and process.

Applying for British Citizenship - Urgent

Post by mah » Tue Jun 17, 2014 5:11 pm

Dear all,

For British Citizenship/naturalisation

In Form AN, Section 3:
The first question asks for the occupation and the second one 4 options to choose from.

My wife has been unemployed for the last 2 years. How should we fill this part? And what documents should we submit?

There is no option for unemployed here.

Regards,

Mah

If she is unemployed, then that is what you write.

Thanks CR 001,

But how should we answer the other questions?
What documents do we need to submit when there is no P60 or Pay slips?

Is it necessary to be employed or working for getting naturalization.

Regards,

mah

Leave the sections blank that don't apply. Obviously you cannot write something down that you don't have.

Employment is not a requirement for naturalisation.
