My husband's Tier 1 visa expires in Nov 2014 and he would be applying for an ILR sometime in July/August 2014. However, his BRP has an error in the 'Place of Birth' section where it mentions 'place of issue of passport' instead of 'place of birth'. As he had to travel to India, he did not have that corrected within 10 days of receiving the BRP card in 2012 and was subsequently forgotten.
Now that he is due for his ILR application, I would like more information on the following:
1. Will the error in the 'place of birth' in his BRP lead to his ILR application being rejected?
2. If we have to correct the BRP error now, should we re-apply for a replacement card? If so, which application form do we use, and what is the process to be followed? Are there any guidance notes for the same?
3. Does he have to go through the entire procedure of applying with photographs, thumb impression, etc?
4. Is there a HO telephone number/ email address that we can use to contact a case worker?
Any information/ personal experiences in this regard would be very useful.
Thanks.
