ILR application as Tier 2

Hello everyone,

I need help with my ILR application.

My queries are -

1. I came to UK on 26th September 2009 but my Entry clearance was granted on 28th August 2009, when earliest date can i apply for my ILR.
2. My present Employer contract is till 6th August 2014 and visa granted till 15th September 2014. I have got a new job which i can start anytime from August 7th 2014. When i apply for ILR extension will the letter from new employer suffice as evidence or it has to be same employer letter as present application.
3. Documents required for Tier 2 applicants.
4. Should i take a solicitor or should i apply on my own.

Please guide further, any help will be appreciated.
