should I wait for more proof of subsisting relationship?

Post by Stanleychan87 » Wed Jun 25, 2014 8:06 am

Hello,

Me and my fiancee are planning to get married end of August. We met online and I first met her end of March this year. We got engage in early June. She is in Manchester and I am in London. I am on tier 2 general visa which expire in October 2016. I take train to visit her every weekend in Manchester (2hours train).

We cannot show we share any financial responsibility yet as we haven't lived together yet.  I am planning to move in with her after I get the visa that when everything begins. I also want to find a new job in Manchester. I wonder can I apply for the visa straight after married or wait until I have more evidence to show Home Office that our relationship is subsisting.

Many Thanks,
Stan

You can apply as soon as you're married. Submit evidence of time you've spent together, photos etc. You don't need to have joint finances or live together prior to the wedding. This is required for an Unmarried Partner Visa.

Thank you Casa :) can we print our facebook page as proof of evidence? We posted when we started our relationship and when we engaged. Do I need to print our conversation on facebook as well or it is not important my my case?

Do you know what are the chances of both of us being called for interview? I am planning to apply in person. Will the interview be on that day as well? I am just concern that because my fiancee got autism she could not handle meeting new person and she might not understand he questions.

Many thanks

Show any proof of contact you have, including facebook. You won't be interviewed when you apply in person, although your wife will have to attend the appointment with you, or submit a letter explaining her absence. The case worker will simply check the documents for validity. You will be expected to show proof that you will be living together.
