Dependant visa: Self employed: Tax payment

Hi,

I am on a dependant visa here with my husband who is on a work permit visa.
My questions:
1)Can a dependant visa work as a self employed?
I read in one of sites of work permit that dependant can work as self employed. Is it right?

2) If yes can i apply for a NI number?

3)How do i pay tax once i get a NI number?
I know there is a self assessment form on hmrc.co.uk..But am very confused..Can someone help me

4) and How much shud be my pay that i am entitled to pay tax
If i am less than the barrier par of payting, do i still need to register and fill the self assessment tax form ?
