180 days in any consecutive 12 month period.

Read,

Also keep in mind, you don't need to provide any proof / explanation for absences if your total leave for the entire 5 year period is less than 180 days.
Cheers,

So does this mean that more than 180 total days in 5 years is allowed but if you are out for more than 180 days u need to give an explanation for that ??

Also do note that you have to prove with evidences of paid annual leave if out of the country as absences. This is so for not breaking continuous residency.

Simple would be to get HR letter or payslips /P60 to show that got paid during annual leave.

I guess depends on case worker, if leaves are less than 180 days in 5 yrs I have heard the same no letters asked, But better to write a cover sheet explanation
