ILR and tax self employed

Post by Katy22 » Fri Jul 04, 2014 12:28 pm

Can anyone assist with my query? I will be applying for ILR at the end of the year and I am self employed. Due to an error in my calculations in the last financial year, I underpaid tax. I have contacted my accountant, he adjusted the self assessment, tax was recalculated which I have paid plus interest.

I am a bit worried that this late payment of tax may affect my application because I understand you have to show your tax history for the past 5years. Note that the tax was filed before the deadline of 31st Jan. I have received a payment statement from HMRC showing all tax paid. Any comments or replies will be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Get your accountant to write a letter regarding the error and that it's been corrected.
