Travel on Singapore passport (Tier 5 GAE visa)

Please excuse me if this is a simple question. I cannot find an answer by searching.
I am on a 1 year Tier 5 visa to the UK (government approved exchange), commenced on 1 August 2013.
I hold a Singapore passport, which allows me to stay in the UK as a tourist for 6 months.
If I leave the UK for France in July, can I return after 1 August 2014 as a tourist? I would not have returned to my country of origin (Singapore). but would leaving the country have 'reset' my clock? In any case, I do not intend to stay in the UK more than a couple weeks in August, just long enough to pack up and return to Singapore.

You should be ok.
I would suggest you ensure you take your return to Singapore ticket to prove your intentions if you are queried on your return to the UK from France.
