british citizen by descent: Father born of missionaries

Post by afknott » Mon Jul 14, 2014 2:55 am

My father was born in China in 1918, his parents were Anglican Missionaries. His birth was registered in the UK at the time. He was sent back to England at age seven and continued to live there until the 1950s having served in the British Army during world war two. He held a British passport and maintained British citizenship until his death.
I was born in 1959 in New York, USA.
Am I entitled to British citizenship through descent even though my father was born in China?
thank you

Was your father in the British Army or in the Crown service when you were born?
