Visiting EU as a EU citizen's family member

Post by asim vokshi » Wed Aug 08, 2007 3:37 pm

I am an Albanian citizen maried to a Slovak national. We are trying to arrange a short trip to europe. Knowing about the directive on free movement I went to several Embassies here in Albania but they all behave like they know nothing about it. Anybody with experience in this kind of situation. I would like to mention that we only want to visit friends and come back to Albania.

You'll need a Schengen visa to visit the EU

Where do you want to visit? Which embassies did you visit and what did they say?

See the thread at http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... dc498e9cad

Especially important for you is Directive 2004/38/EC (http://eumovement.wordpress.com/directive-200438ec/). Mention it by name to the embassy people if they are unresponsive.

If you have problems, contact EU's Solvit for their assistance.
