English language requirement (B1) QUERY

Post by London_34 » Thu May 08, 2014 11:13 am

Hi All,

I have query related to English language test required for Naturalisation.

I have proved my English language requirement (B1) during my ILR process.
I want to know if i will again have to prove this English language requirement when i apply for Naturalisation.

I had given the PTE Academic test to qualify and prove that i have English language equal to B1. The certificate issued by PTE Academic was valid only for 2 yrs and has now expired.
Will i have to give another test? Or since i have proved this during ILR i won’t be required to prove it again.

Please could someone share their views or advice

Thanks in advance

Hi, if your ILR was granted before 28 October 2013 then yes you have to prove your English language ability again.
Homeoffice does accept expired language tests as long as they are in the approved test list. Approved English language qualifications

Many Thanks for yor responce.

I got my ILR in Nov 2013. My PTE Acedemic certificate expired in Jan 14.

So as far from the previous post i can make the assumption i wont be required to give another test to prove i meet the english launguage requirement.

you got ILR after 28 Oct 2013 so you don't need to approve again. If you look at the form-an it has an option for people who got ILR after 28 Oct 2013. Please double check if you are eligible for Naturalization, normally you can only apply after 12 months of ILR.

Hi All,
I got my ILR May 2013; but have proved earlier during HSMP & Tier-1 for the english language requirement. Also; the PBS does accept my university degree. Do i need to prove again for English language requirement ?
