EC Form, Timelines and Money required in Bank Account

Post by everhappy007 » Sat Aug 11, 2007 6:27 am

Dear All
I got my HSMP early this month. I came across this wonderful website while looking for information regarding Entry Clearance on google last night. I went through a lot of threads to get a my doubts cleared. I have a few queries outstanding:
1. Can someone confirm if the form required to fill for Entry Clearance is "VAF1"?
2. What should I answer (tick in the form) for the question: 'What type of visa are you applying for?' ? I guess the answer should be 'Work Permist Holder'. But could someone please confirm?
3. How much money should I prove in my bank account? (I know there is no clear guidance in HSMP guidance doc. Still want to ask this forum for practical guidance.) Initially I plan to visit alone and then call my wife at a later date once I am able to find a job.
4. I plan to visit UK by mid october. Is it a good time to find a job in Java/J2EE market? I have 6+ years of work experience with some internation exposure (abt 2 years in UK and 6 months in Canada and US.)

Thanks for your advise in advance.
