Mothers Biometric Residence Permit

Post by starM26 » Wed Aug 06, 2014 7:04 pm

Hi,

My mother came to UK in 1960s. Since then she did not apply for British Nationality. She is 67 years old registered disabled. Received PIP at higher rate.

She has number of Pakistani passports so decided to apply for BRP card so she don't have to take initial passport with her in order to enter UK.

Application was sent beginning of May - she received a letter asking to attend PO for biometric. This was done 30th May. Since then received no correspondence. I sent an email BRPDelivery@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk on 3rd August. They issued a letter on 4th August recorded delivery which has arrived today from `Cardiff Enforcement and compliance.

1. They are asking for all passports. It states their records indicates she has been issued with passports which she has not supplied. --- I did send 3 passports which I thought the necessary. The initial one also said she is not required to have Visa when entering UK within 2 years. I have further 3 passports which we can sent to them.

2. You required to supply evidence of continuous residence in the UK since 1991. This can be utility bills, payslips or P60s, statements from HMRC confirming dates of National Insurance contribution or letters from DWP. You are required to supply at least one document for each 18 months period since 1991.

As I said before passports I van sent but documents since 1991. My mother has been a housewife. Majority of the documents been in my name or my father's name. Property is in my fathers name.

Likely she has documents going back 5 years but 25 years.may not be possible. Hopefully she can obtain letter from GP stating her attendance. May be difficult or take time as during 1991 I think it was paper based. Will a letter from GP acceptable with evidence of her PIP/pension? I am not sure why these are required when passports clearly shows stamps of entering and leaving UK.

Thanks
MS
