The good old income threshold

Good morning,

I posted the case concerning my wife and I a good few months back, the point basically being that we met every requirement other than the fincance. Now, I earn upwards of 2400+ every month but because I have only been self employment since November I have not had to file any self assessment forms. I have however paid NI contributions. Would there be any precedent or way of proving my income without this. Currently I have a letter from a company I primarily work with staying what I earn, I have fulfilled invoices and bank statements to back these up.

For self employment, it's the last Financial or last 2 Financial years that count.

From November 2013 - April 2014 I earned aprox 8k
This with my wife's employment reaches the threshold however I won't have any tax returns from this as I am not required to do so until October I believe. As I mentioned I have everything to support this other than the HMRC tax return

Any advice?

Can anyone help. We have been given an apeal deadline of 18/08/14

Well having everything to support this without a tax return or an accountant letter is simply not good enough.
