Naturalisation and English Language Requirements

Naturalisation and English Language Requirements

Hi All

I am British born myself, my wife has ILR which she gained July 2013. It has now been one year since gaining ILR so now thinking for applying for British Citizenship and then passport. One of the things which confused me is the English Language requirement for Naturalisation. DOes my wife need to do Life in UK test and an English course? what does she need to do exactly, can anybody help? My wife did an ESOL course before gaining ILR so can she just use that or....?
Any assistance is very much appreciated.

Surely she must have passed the LIUK test for ILR?

No, my wife completed and passed an ESOL course before gaining her ILR

She needs both the life in the UK test and an acceptable English language qualification for naturalisation.
