tourist/ spouse visa fiji

Hi guys

I am after some advice please. I have a bf from fiji who I met 4 yrs ago, I am a British citizen and I would like to bring him to England to come visit me and meet my family. I am worried a visit visa will be refused as of financial ties. We would like to get married one day in the future but would like to bring him here first to visit. I have just got a mortgage so am able to provide accommodation. If we did do a marriage cisa and a tourist visa was refused before this will this go against us for the marriage visa.
