Right of abode???

Post by Praetorian » Fri Aug 17, 2007 5:57 pm

Yeah i recently found out that i have a german aunt and uncle currently residing there. Can anyone explain to me if this helps me in trying to move to Germany. I know in the U.S. having family here makes coming here much easier, but not sure how that applies to Germany for an american. (these are blood relatives by the way)

Nope. Only parents, and grandparents, in a direct lineage can help you, and by that I mean if they were German citizens and you wanted to claim via German ancestry.

But what you're talking about wouldn't help you one dot.
