Do i need to give special instruction to post office for the postal order or provide them any account information
Also just want to confirm the postal order should be made to Home Office right and nothing else to be added

U need cash to get postal order from post office.

Remember they charge for 12.50 per 250 pound overdraft.

For example if u want 1000 pound in postal order u need to pay extra 50 pound. Postal order amount shows only 1000 but in post office receipt would show 1050. Retain that receipt. Photocopy each postal order which u r sending with your application. Send the original postal order and keep the photocopy for your records.

Answer for your second question is your form will tell u what should be return on postal order.

In some forms they say to write HOME OFFICE and in some forms it's HOME OFFICE LEAVE TO REMAIN.

Read front pages of your form very carefully.

U don't have to write on postal order. Tell post office clerk to write they have printer so they print(payee name) on postal order and tell the clerk to cross the postal order to payee.

Most of the clerk knows all about it because it's their daily routine work. :D :D

At the last carefully do the maths with your application fees. like if your fees is 1050 then u need 4* 250 pound postal order(maximum is 250 per postal order) and make other for 50 the postal order fees is below

Purchase value per order Fee payable
£0.50 - £4.99 50p
£5 - £9.99 £1.00
£10.00 - £99.99 12.50% of the face value
£100 - to maximum value of £250 Capped at £12.50

Take cash with u. My personal experience is they refuse to accept debit card.

I paid by debit card which I think is a secure form of payment, free and without hassle. Go for the postal order if you can afford to burn £50.

It depends on different post offices what they accept as payment method to issue postal order. Mine one refuse to accept debit card.

Postal order is expensive but fully secured payment method.

U can use banker draft as well. If u have a bank account. All u need to do is go to your bank and ask them to make a bank draft. Bank fees is varies 15 pound to 20 pound to issue a bank draft.

Postal order and bank draft r safest method of payment.

Do not take risk to pay through any cards. U don't know the mood of the person who is sitting in HO entering your card details in the system.
They don't bother to try it again.

So be safe and use safest payment method.
