Goodluck Ket1, hope ur application had been accepted Insha Allah.

I feel soo disheartened & annoyed. My husband applied on 04/10/2013.
I rang their UK helpline number 2 days ago, and a Chinese man answerd who could barely speak any English!!
It took me over 5mins just to clarify 3bits of info witg him; my name, my husbands name & my contact email address.
I couldnt believe i was paying £1.37/min for this call!
The man could barely communicate!!
I had to spell my email address out 3times phoentically!
Then first he said, a decision has been made. Then he changed his mind & said that he will send me an email, i need to fill out all of the info in the email & send it back to him so he can escalate my case. Worried that this guy didnt know what he was talking abt, i asked to spk to a manager. The chinese man refused to let me spk to one.
I was shocked. So i politely, completed the call and hung up & surprisingly after waiting all day - no email arrived!! :(
Yest i rang again - and i tried to expln my situ go the man abt already hving paid for a call the previous day, but he just simply refused to listen without taking my card details first (for payment).
He told me my application was still under process & he will escalate this for me.
It makes me sooo angry that these ppl working in their call centre are so useless! Yet they are penalising Pakistanis for their English tests!

Their own staff have no idea what they are saying/telling ppl.
In total - that call cost me £22 and ZERO result!
I wont be ringing them again!
They literally tell u the same thing as they do in the email.

Funnily enough - last week ISLMBD EMBASSY rang my husband just to tell him that they are receiving all the emails from his wife (me) and that a decision will b made very soon.

They rang specifically to say that!! Why could they just mke a decision & ring him?? They are just wasting time and after a year of waiting.. I have a feeling they will find sum nitty gritty petty reason to refuse my husband.
Bcos thats what they have done with majority of the applicants who waited around a year!
This is just sheer torture! :'(
[/quote]

Raholptl - believe me., iv considerdd that.
I evn asked my MP to write to the Home Secretary Theresa May, but my MP refused. He said, you can only do that if there has been an emergency ie. Death in the family or if someones critical ill. Only then will the Home Office prioritise ur case.
He also said that there are 400,000 cases waiting to be processed, and my husband has to wait his turn in the queue.

So what more can the media do? :(

feeling really worried now guys.
last week wen my mp asked the embassy about my application, she told me that it was in process and then she started saying if its rejected u should re apply rather than appeal as appeal is longer etc and that the ECO calculate your wage differently than how you would.
seeing as she said it was still in process i thought she was merely informing me about the options i have.
now i told her that thy have made a decision she said yes they told me this when i spoke to them. this has worried me do you think she knows its been rejected? i have asked her and she said no they are not allowed to inform anyone before the applicant but than why did she hide that they told her about making a decision. does anyone no how true this is? can they tell ur mp of the decision before u?

According to law they cannot tell anyone about the decision. Do not worry. Decision has already been made just pray that it is in your favor inshAllah. I know its really difficult situation and you might be having negative thoughts but pray for the best. whatever happens is in our best interest.

It looks like several months need to be added on to visa processing time according to the home office website. As visa processing will be done in date order.

Looks like a long wait guys :(

i guess in a way its best to do it in date order as people have been waiting for over a year. this will clear the backlog and then give evryone an equal waiting time as some people only have to wait for a few weeks and others many months,

Good Morning xxxx,

Andrew has now received a response from the Home Office regarding your husband, xxxxxxx application for a UK visa.

They have confirmed that the British High Commission in Islamabad is aware of all of the information which has been submitted in support of xxxxxs application, and is now being given full consideration.

Unfortunately, The British High Commission in Islamabad have been subject to disruption during the past two weeks due to protests against the government in Islamabad, resulting in no staff resource and lost productivity due to blocked roads and the security situation.

As you husband, xxxxxxx's, application was submitted in October it is expected that you should receive a decision shortly, as currently The British High Commission in Islamabad are currently working on applications submitted in October.

If you have any further enquiries about this issue, or if you would like my assistance with any other matter, please do not hesitate to contact my office again.

Kind regards,

xxxxxx

anyone received anything similar email? does this mean they will look at my extra documents again?
this is a joke.. they blaming the current situation in Pakistan which only started two weeks ago. What they been doing from months??? LIARS

Dont Worry Ket1, Your MP probably being over helpful giving you options etc, I am sure they defo are not allowed to inform third parties of decision and not applicant!

Keep your faith in sha allah good news soon, hopeless situation and all you do is overthink everything!

At least theres some movement on BHC Islamabad issuing the statement, not all applications of 4000 odd were from Pakistan so hopefully they clear backlog and applications on hold and we get a turn around of 60 days for everyone!

They were 750 on hold from Pakistan and some applicants on hold have already been notified and by the sounds of it many decisions have been made only that they have not been calling people over the last few week.

Where are visas submitted in Pakistan being processed. Is it Islamabad or Abu Dhabi or is it each individual visa application centre. If you look at the online visa processing times for Pakistan they are divided into individual cities so does that mean decisions are made at each centre? All a bit confusing
