Can employer bond an employee?

Can employer bond an employee?

Is there any rule which allow the employer to bond the employee. I came here in UK 6 months back on WP. While entering UK my employer got me signed all usual document and 1 point is that I cannot leave them for 1 year in UK.

Now I have applied for HSMP. If I get my HSMP and chose to work with another employer can I do so OR will this be an offence as per Law considering that I have worked with them only for 6 month.

Could this be termed as bonded labour.?
