URGENT! Can i stay in UK after my divorce

Post by firm » Mon Sep 08, 2014 2:07 am

I have been in UK for 6 yrs (came to this country in aug 2008). I was always on a dependent visa. I am currently on a spouse dependent visa (PBS dependent -leave to remain) which is valid till beginning of 2016. Me & my partner are staying separately & have legally divorced in April 2014 (Decree Absolute granted). Can I continue staying legally in UK? What options do I have? Pls advice

The policy guidelines state you should inform ukba about your change of circumstances. Also if your partner had already informed ukba, then you need to either switch or switch into another eligible category.

Good luck.

Read pg.14, relationship breakdowns.

Not sure what action the UKVI will take. What is your current occupation. You could switch into Tier 2 General or a Tier 4 as a student. There are other categories you could switch into as well, explore the UKVI site.
