Having child birth in UK and future benefits

I am on ICT tier 2 visa and my wife is due in Coming November. Are there any benefits in future or long term to child if one is born in U.K.
As I was just wondering in case there are any benefits.

In what way do you mean 'benefits to child'??

The child will not be British, if that is what you mean. Also, children don't claim benefits, the parents do and as you are on a Tier 2 visa, you cannot claim benefits. I am assuming your wife is your Tier 2 dependent.

If you qualify at some point for ILR, once you have that, you could Register the child as British under section 1(3) of the BNA, which is an entitlement to register if born in the UK.

I think the OP intended to use 'advantages', but used 'benefits' instead.

In addition, note if child is born outside of the uk, then its a 5 year dependant route to settlement.
