Dependant Visa Extension

Post by vijaygk » Tue Sep 16, 2014 12:43 pm

Hi All,

I have some dobut regarding the extension of my Wife Visa.

Initial Visa Granted on 25/03/2013 as a Tier-1 General Partner Visa valid till 28/11/2014. In between on 12/07/2014 I got my ILR and she is continously on her previous Visa but now her Visa is coming to expire so do I need to apply her as a Tier 1 Dependant Extension or is there any other category in which she needs to apply and Can she apply for ILR after completetion of 2 Year or she has to wait for 5 Year because I have read somewhere that if dependant get the First Visa before 9th July 2012 they can apply for settlement in 2 Year otherwise dependant has to wait for 5 Year. If this is the case then if she applies for extension what is the validity of her current Visa.

One more question can she apply from outside UK or she needs to apply within the UK.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Yes she need to spend 5 years to get ILR. If you got your ILR through PBS route than she can apply as TIer 1 G dependent and if got your ILR through long residency then she will apply FLR M
