Naturalisation !

Post by immija123 » Tue Sep 16, 2014 7:35 pm

Hi,

I have applied for Naturalisation on 06/05/14. I got a acknowledgement Letter from HO but haven't heard anything since than. After going through different posts it looks like that its a long delay in processing. Any body know reasons why their is a delay?
How long do I need to wait before contacting Home office?

thanks

We have good reason to believe that UKVI staff were reassigned from processing naturalisation applications to help clear the passport backlog. Application approvals almost stopped for around two months from early June, however, they have picked up again recently. If you have a look at the May application timeline you will see that around 61% of applications from the first 10 days of May have been approved. However, only around 1/3 of these have been approved in the last month.

No one is sure when your application will be processed - least of all the buffoons at the UKVI call centre. However, if you feel the need to wait for 15 minutes on hold for someone to finally tell you that your application "is currently under consideration" then you can ring 0300 123 2253.

The service standard states that applications should be decided within six months however, a number do take longer than this. They technically should have contacted you after 12 weeks to inform you if your application was going to take longer than six months. However it appears that they don't bother doing this as this would require a degree of competence which is incompatible with this organisation.
