Neutralisation law change for 2016?

Neutralisation law change for 2016?

Does anyone know if the neutralisation (BC) law are changing March 2016?

In May 2015 I am eligible for ILR after 5yrs on ancestry. The plan for May 2016 is to apply for neutralisation and apply for a British passport.

However a colleague is mentioned that the process was changing and that in March 2016 you have to have been on IRL for 5 years before being eligible for a passport?

I have tried to find some information but with no luck. If anyone could point me in the correct direction I would be grateful.

Nobody knows that. Not your colleague. Not anybody.

Unless your colleague has the ability to predict the future to perfection, they might as well predict who will win the 2016 World Cup and by what exact score. They'll have just as much luck as they will have trying to predict future immigration law. In any case, such an idea hasn't been posted around here in any search I could find. If a major change like that was even being considered without anybody here knowing about it, we'd probably know about it.

Until there is something definite, or it becomes public knowledge that something like this is being considered, assume the current laws will apply to when the time comes.

I believe the correct word is naturalisation.

The only relevant upcoming changes in the rules I have heard of are:
1. No Tier 1 extrensions after April 2015
2. No ILR after April 2018
But mind you that as far as I know this is still an intention and no decision has been made yet. Having said that I would not be surprise if this is passed as a law given the recent changes to the immigration rules over the last couple of years.
