Can one parent be brought as dependent or impossible

Post by nnr21 » Fri Oct 03, 2014 11:26 am

Hi All,

I lost my father few month back. My mother is very lonely now. I have already brought them on visitor visa last year. Now I want to know whether it is possible to bring my mother to UK by any chance?
I heard from this forum that it is nearly impossible but I also found this document- https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... annexv.pdf

Has anyone had any success on this?

Thanks

Unfortunately those are the old rules which have been superseded by the rules in Appendix FM.

They are much harsher requiring your mother to require care to help with daily tasks such as washing or dressing herself. And you have to be able to show you can afford to hire help, but that you can't afford to look after her here (which is a catch 22 for most of the world).

I believe MPH80 intended to write 'you can't afford to hire help'' (in her home country).

Thanks - duly corrected ... Early morning jet-lag induced posting ... never good.
