family visitor fees to extend your visa

Post by sherriesmum » Tue Oct 07, 2014 9:45 am

is this correct.if you get a family visitor visa for less than 6 months and want to extend it to maximum of 6 months it costs £600 by post or £10001 by post and you have to appy 8 weeks before your other visa runs out and apply in the uk.what a rip off.this is what it says on the direct gov site.

That's correct.
'Fees
You pay:
£601 if you apply to extend your visa by post
£1,001 if you apply in person'
(Casa, not CR001)
