Queries regarding passport application

Post by mah » Mon Oct 20, 2014 8:21 am

Dear All,

I am preparing myself and family for passport applications, to submit them when getting BC. I am going to do it through the post office.

In section 4. it asks if both parents are born abroad, we have to give the details of grandparents. I do not know their date of Birth or date of marriage. How do you deal with this? (Ours were not British) Also as section 8 doesn't have enough space for maternal and parental grandparents, I need to write on a separate piece of paper. Do you have any particular format for it?

Thanks

Mah

See passport section in the FAQs, grandparent details are not required for Naturalised citizens

The FAQs also say that some PO check and send services require this information. This was the case for me and delayed my application until I had got hold of the information. As you don't have all of the details then it might be worth asking the PO you will use whether you will need to supply this information (or you could find another PO which doesn't require it). I wrote the information on a separate piece of paper. The FAQs also say you can just write "unknown" if you can't get hold of the info
