sending in appliaction

Post by mjbevan » Sat Sep 06, 2014 12:57 am

I am getting ready to send in my Personal Details Form (VA4FA) and I did not read in those forums about how to pay for it. I am wondering when to send the check to and also who to write the check to.

Online form and VAF 4a

Post by mjbevan » Wed Sep 17, 2014 11:08 pm

I have just started the process of filling out the form to start my immigration and I am confused. First the application online is not the VAF 4A, which I was told by a solicitor that I would have to fill out online and then a hard copy. The form I am filling out online is Settlement - Settlement - Proposed Civil Partnership. That names does sound right but it just does not seem the same as the VAF 4A.

The online form isn't labelled as VAF4A, but the above link should help you a bit.

self address stamped envelope

Post by mjbevan » Tue Oct 21, 2014 5:52 am

I need help. I am going to get my biometrics taken this week, then after that I need to mail in my supporting documents. The address I am mailing it to looks I should mail them along with a self address stamped envelope to International Operations and Visas, 6 Millsands, Vulcan House, Sheffield, S3 8NH, United Kingdom. I clicked on the link for information on where you should send these documents and it was not helpful. I did not print out the Completed Visa Application yet so sorry if that is where the information is.

Evidence of proposed wedding date and venue

Post by mjbevan » Fri Nov 07, 2014 9:50 pm

I sent my application in and The Sheffield Visa Section is asking for evidence of propose wedding date and venue. Our current understanding of UK marriage law is that one, I need to be in the UK to register. I am currently in the US making this application for Family Settlement Visa. Two, to make the application for marriage I need Family Settlement Visa to be approved, to prove my right for marriage in the UK. I am aware of the requirement of getting married within six months of this visa. We will be registering at the Designated Register Office for our area in Southampton when I return to the UK. What do they want as evidence of the propose wedding date when we do not know when we can do so?

If one one you is presently in UK,I'll advise you to go to the registry office and book a date, they'll will probably tell you your partner needs to be with you. Ask them to put it in writing or if it's an email. They actually know you can't book a wedding without your partner being here, they just want to see the commitment or the effort you've made.I'm afraid the application can be refused without doing this. Two applicants on the forum have been refused for the exact reason without even giving them the option of presenting this evidence before the refusal.

Thanks for the help

I just want to thank everyone on this message board for the help they gave me. It is great that so many people take time to help people others.
I want to share this information also for it will help others who had one of my issues. You can set to arrange a wedding date to be arranged with only one person being there. Then when the other person get their visa approved you go and finish arranging for the wedding ceremony. This will give Sheffield Visa Section evidence of propose wedding date and venue if they ask for it.
