ILR with ancestry visa...CERTIFICATE QUESTION

Post by lizzieville234 » Fri Oct 31, 2014 11:02 am

Hi there
I am applying for ILR after having an Ancestry Visa.

I was born in Australia.

My mother was born in Australia and her mother - my Grandmother - was born in the UK (she married an Australian Navy Serviceman in WW2) and relocated to Australia.

I have birth certificates for the 3 of us.

I have read that if the ancestry link is on your maternal side you should have marriage certificates also.

DOES THIS MEAN I NEED A MARRIAGE CERT for 1. my Australian born mother ( who married an Australian) and
2. Scottish born Grandmother ( who married an Australian)

In the Set O form it says to include parents birth certificates and grandparents. Does anyone know if this is plural and they want birth
certificate of my father in Australia??????

I hope someone can clarify for me. Thank you.

I would imagine so yes as woman surname changes after marriage. This is exactly what you would have been asked to provide at your initial application for the Ancestral visa claiming ancestry through the maternal line.

Only the birth certificates through which you are claiming ancestry and again, the same as what you would have to provide for your initial application (yours, your mothers, your grandmothers birth certificates)
Char (CR001 not Casa)
